When Lawrence moves to a new home, a smaller home, in an attempt to move forward from the memory of his recently lost son, Alex, he isn't in the least expecting what awaits him.
And what awaits him isn't expecting him either. Junebug, a half-demon ghost child, and her adoptive ghost parents, the former residents of the home, Adam and Barbara Maitland, weren't expecting to be seen. While Joystick tries to convince the human to say her name thrice, in an effort to wreak havoc and perhaps come back to life, the Maitlands struggle with the possibility of losing their child.
When Lawrence snaps and summons the demon child, she begins to explain to him that the only way for her to come to life is for a living person to adopt her, hoping he'll accept the proposition.
But everything isn't as it seems, especially when you have a mirrored perspective.
