Evangeline Bustillo will cover herself in any weather in order to hide her severe eczema on her arms and legs. She navigates high school with the help of her best friend, Elliot. An eccentric girl, nicknamed Mayo, transfers to her class with the same condition. They bond with the same problems, but the confident and extroverted Mayo celebrates her condition, contrary to the shy and anxious Evangeline. She questions whether Elliot is the friend she thought he would turn out to be. Mayo and Evangeline explore themes of insecurity, toxicity, and self-love while forming an unusual relationship. An completed short story about teen struggle and acceptance.
