Growing up surrounded by people who are different from you is never an easy task. From identification crisis-to trying to fit in with the wrong people-to falling in love with the wrong boy, 17 year old Shakira Robinson faces it all as she struggles to find the missing pieces in her life.
"I want to prove to them that being a Muslim American doesn't make me any less of an American than they are," I said. "Little did I know that I was proving my point in the wrong manner while at the same time setting myself up for failure."
