"Obanma if you keep vibrating like a car engine, neither of us would get good sleep. I can feel the bed shaking from way over there" He gestured at the edge of the bed where lay he before.

Her mouth couldn't form any words in her own defense.

"I've been battling with pneumonia I would have left the bed for you. Those tiles might just worsen my case. Besides there's enough space to fit two more people on this bed." She only nodded still staring at him and recoiling inwardly at the proximity between them.

Adaugo had once told her that being on the same bed with a man could make her pregnant. Oh Biology her saviour!

" I am not that kind of man, I offered you a place to rest for the night and that you shall get. Sleeping with your Jean trousers on, one foot in and foot out of the bed, huddling at the edge which is quite close to the door, wouldn't really save you if I wanted something else. I am a man, I am stronger and faster. So please relax, stop shaking and go to sleep. I have a very busy schedule tomorrow and just like you, I can't sleep unless my surrounding is suitable for sleeping "

How did he know all that? Was he a mind reader too?

She nodded again then slowly relaxed on the bed, still very much awake. Sleeping was not really what one did in enemy camp.
He smiled, gently rolling over to his side to really have a look at her. She was truly very beautiful and innocent. He knew deep down that she could escape if she wanted to, he was no superman and she would definitely elude him.

His hands itched to caress and hold her, that feeling was not alien, he had always felt protective of the girl. Onyedikachi simply turned to the other side of the bed with a smile on his face and very familiar words in his heart as exhaustion drove him to sleep.

Smart girl!

And I keep feeling this tug towards you, to check up on you but you're so stubborn. I had to pray about it all the time because I felt my heart was deceiving me or something. God knows how confused I was before I accepted that..." He just paused. "That what?" "That I liked you." ❊❊❊❊❊ In my story I'm a child of unfortunate circumstances, born to a reckless father and a housewife mother although the world thinks I have it all. In my story I struggle between loving my parents even though their actions make me angry, I struggle to be the shield for my sister while leaving her alone to pick herself up, I struggle to fit in with my peers even though we we've been friends for years. I can't even hold on to the person who saw me and wanted me. I hide myself behind thousands of questions, anxiety and fear. In my story I'm just another girl raised in Ibadan with nothing to look forward to. Hope is unknowingly what kept me together, hence I started writing letters. What am I hoping for? Yasmine is a star girl, with plans for the future, good grades and a boyfriend to top it up but how can she survive when her enemies are her family, a menacing father willing to give her out without a second thought, a step mother cruel enough to be Shaytan himself and a step sister who's jealousy burns from within, a drive that's enough to kill a person. As her world comes crumbling down, will she crumble with it or stand in the midst of the rumble. _________ I'm not going to cry I'm not going to cry I'm not going to cry He chuckled wickedly as Hauwa stoked his hand tenderly. 'At first it was about your virginity but you were stubborn so I took it slow, till I got what I wanted' he said, his eyes void of emotion. 'Turns out you're easy and a slut at that' he completed as Hauwa laughed heartily. Tears fell from my eyes freely, like a waterfall, like dew on the desert. I swallowed to ease my parched throat as I bit my lips trying not to scream. My breath was becoming uneven as I strode to where he stood and slapped him across the face with all the anger, the sorrows and frustration that were bottled up on me. 'You disgust me' I managed to say as tears started to blur my vision and for a second I saw hurt in his eyes or maybe I assumed it. I ran, bumping into tables, chairs and people, I didn't care. Ammi always told me there was a thin line between love and hate and I had crossed that line today with Sadiq', the one that wiped away my tears and told me it was going to be fine, my calm after the storm was actually my enemy in disguise. Shit!!! When it rains it fucking pours. ____________ Will she loose herself or find love in the most unexpected place?

"What is your name? " he enquired with a staid expression. Obi's eyes roamed around still trying to ascertain the safety of their current surrounding. What is your spec? I mean those qualities you desire your future partner to possess? Definitely not being way below in the social ladder right? Especially when you are the lady in the picture. Amarachi Jessica Okpara, alias, Ajay also thought the same way. Being a successful career woman with a pretty face and nice body, she couldn't settle for less..... Or so she thought... Until she met the one who changed her life.... ************************************************** That was when I noticed how close he was to me. His huge manly figure towering over me like I was something he wanted to protect, like I was a precious gem he found. Could he be the man God has chosen for me? Because judging from events, he was the first man I saw after my long night vigil. But then I took another good look at him. I cringed at my own thoughts. 'Ewww! Ajay, how could such a lame thought creep into your lousy head?' God will definitely not give me such an ugly-faced illiterate. I got away from him immediately. "Aunty your phone...." He called, running to meet me. He handed the phone to me giving me that same sheepish smile. And again I was disappointed that I could think of this irritating guy as an option. Jeez! Definitely not what I want!
