Skyler Cooper has to drop her normal life and fight the living dead. Her sister Elena is by her side the entire time as they run from what wants to kill them. She needs to find some place safe and some people to trust, not just for herself, but for the little girl she loves.
Elena isn't the only family Skylar has, she has a little brother. Elena's twin brother, Jasper. Jasper was ripped away from her early on in the apocalypse, a sick man running off with him the second some bad dripped into the air. She never had much with him, when he was born their mother died a few minutes later from complications and her father turned to drinking to soothe himself, resulting in anger problems and abusiveness.
She managed to protect Elena for most of her life but Jasper was taken away from her and lived at their aunts house.
Skylar had gone to college for a year before her brother and sister were born, a life long friend being made in the process, a farm girl with short brown hair and a sweet smile. Maggie Greene. They instantly clicked but when Skylar had to drop out of classes their friendship died.
A few months into a living hell, she is rescued by a man with the name of Daryl Dixon. Her and Elena became the most important things in his life and he realized he would do anything for the two girls. Daryl is now the only nonfamily that cares about her in any way and he is finally breaking down the walls she was careful to build.
Can she tear down the hunters walls as easily as he did hers? Will she be able to keep her little brother and sister safe through the years of walking dead?

Lauren is in her worse state of mind after losing everything she's ever loved and gets to meet Rick in his scariest state of survival also, relating to him more than anyone else in the group having done the same things as Rick to survive at all costs.
