Tadeo Gonzales thought sophomore year would be simple: keep his grades up, help his mom with his younger brothers, and move on from his ex-boyfriend Tyler. Being openly bisexual in small-town America isn't easy, but he's managing.

Then two boys complicate everything.

There's Zephan, his infuriatingly attractive coworker at Rocktown Kitchen, whose girlfriend Tessa is impossible to hate. And Benjamin, the closeted baseball player whose desperate need for help awakens something protective in Tadeo's heart.

When Benjamin asks Tadeo to be there for his coming out, it should be an easy promise to keep. But one choice-between a night of normal teenage fun and being there for Benjamin-spirals into consequences Tadeo never saw coming.

Now he's juggling a possible romance with his friend Agnes, growing feelings for Zephan he can't ignore, and the crushing weight of a promise he failed to keep. In a town where being Latino and bisexual already makes him different, Tadeo's about to learn that love isn't the only thing that can break your heart.
