Life is all normal down in the United States, or what they think it is. All of the overpopulation occurring is causing the government to plant dots on everyone's hands who turns 18. Green means you live, red means you die.

Georgia Rose, a quirky bookworm who called herself Rose dreamed of getting out of her small town lifestyle in North Carolina. She worked hard in school and made it to Stanford University. Now, at a new school, learning to adapt to her new environment she must also deal with new and promiscuous experiences. Rose was never a party girl, but that was all before she met Harry, the university's "badass".

Harry, already being 19, had received the green dot, and although cold and reserved at some times, somehow Rose wedges her way into his life. But the only problem is that no one's future is guaranteed.
