Raven has a good excuse for abandoning Beacon, Ozpin, her family, as does his new lover, Iris, the older brother of Summer.
Their last mission endeded in dissaster, Summer got raped by Tai the day before the mission, Iris's last teammate dies and Qrow flees back to Beacon, leaving Raven and Iris alone. Both have nothing to lose, so they leave and take charge of the Brawen tribe and bringing the wielder of Alduin's Bane too the world.
