A girl finds herself in the body of May Melgren, the daughter of General Augustine Melgren. She becomes aware of the fact that she is living in the Empyrean Series and still holds the previous May Melgren's memories. Having no choice but to enroll in the Riders Quadrant, she sets out to protect the characters she so cared for.

"I guess that's true, sorry, I just got curious." I look down at my feet as we enter inside the citadel and walk to the dorms.

"It's fine, maybe after it comes true, I'll tell you."

"Okay but that's a promise, right?" We reach the front of the door.

"Sure." A small chuckle passes through his lips.

Xaden points a finger at the navy-blue dragon behind him and leans forward slightly, and says, deadly calm, "To them, you're just the prey." I swallow the lump in my throat. He's trying to scare us, they all are, so the dragons know who to pick off. But I will not let any of them win. I may not have had a choice in coming to the Riders Quadrant, but now that I'm here, the only way I'm leaving is on the back of a dragon.
