    An Agent of Hope is a being who exists to show the beauty of the Earth to its inhabitants and to cultivate hope in them. Agent J is an Agent of Hope who is sick and tired of completing small tasks for the Deity, and this shows through his mischievous and rebellious nature. After causing enough trouble for the Deity, he is turned into a Guardian and sent to help a hopeless human as punishment. If he manages to save her soul from her terrible fate, his wish to be an Angel will be granted. However, if he fails, he will be damned - in other words, erased from existence entirely.
