In the heart of North Carolina, when a woman, commonly known as Ruby,among other things, searches for the man of her dreams in a marine compound with her sister Izzy, she's in for a rude awakening. Ruby and her sister are soon thrown into a 24-hour surveillance. Greg, a marine officer at this said marine compound, being their guard until the base decides what they want to do with them. Eventually, the marines see them as friends instead of their enemies, and choose to take them under their wing and hire them, yet when things begin to look up for Ruby, Izzy and the Marine Officer, their situation takes a turn for the worst and grows grim... however, Ruby and Izzy have secrets of their own that they choose to hide. What will happen to the three? Will they take a downfall, or travel "The Distance?"
