Prologue

My body dripped with blood and the smell of burning gasoline filled the air.

"Shit," I cursed. Moving my broken arm to the handle, the door was locked. "Liam, I need you to wake up," I said. Liam was unconscious in the passenger seat. I punched and broke the glass window, ignoring the cuts on my knuckles and the pain over my broken arm. I reached over to pull Liam out with me as fast as I could.

"Fuck, you need to lay low on the cookies after this buddie," I cursed.

"Damon!" I heard Carter running towards us. A couple arms helped me pulled Laim out and I dropped to the floor, arms stretched wide across the black tar road.

"Fuck," Miles said. "You okay?"

"Yeah," I breathe, filling my lungs with air again. There were more stars today than ever, maybe they came to watch the show. Whatever it is, it's not my time yet.
