If you don't know the 2009 series Dollhouse then you need to look it up. 

In Paris there is a rumored place that is running an operation. The operation is said to help people by saving them from their terrible lives and send others people that can help what they need help with. At times, it even deals with fantasy (stay PG people). This operation is called the Dollhouse. 

Lotus, originally Marinette, is a doll in the Dollhouse. She is one of the most popular dolls in the house. Her number one persona is Paris's superhero, Ladybug. She slowly becomes aware of her existence in the Dollhouse during her time there. 

Adrien is a member of the Agreste household and a model for the Agreste brand. He slowly comes aware of the existence of the Dollhouse through interactions with their dolls. He also finds things about his family that he didn't know before. 

"Alright, Adrien. We have a new model to help us out with this photo shoot today."

"We do? Who is it?"

A girl with raven black hair that shined with a blue hue in the sun went over to Adrien. She reached out her hand and smiled. "Hello there. I am Mauve."
