On their eighteenth birthday, humans are required to take a test to see where they belong.

Rae Ann gets listed as a baby to the vampires. After her test, she gets hauled off to a facility that will train her for a week before she takes part of an auction to find her new family.

When Rae is adopted by the Vampire Kings brothers family, she moves into the castle with them.
