Eggman con ayuda de su nuevo Aliado el Dr. Starline han puesto en marcha su malvado plan: convertir a todos los seres vivos en robots zombies llamados "Zombots".
Mientras Sonic y sus amigos intentan detenerlo y encontrar una cura al letal "metal virus" Edmund Wolfshund junto con su equipo deberán poner a salvo a todas las vidas inocentes y a ellos mismos del letal virus.
