Beneath The Light of a Dying Star
In these pages, the world is both light and heavy-sometimes in the same breath. This is a catch-call collection of my own poetry, prose and/or lyrics that I've accumulated over the years that I related to and enjoyed writing and re-writing. I don't know, I just hope you enjoy them or find some comfort in them as well. :) Also, possibly relevant, I'm queer, autistic/adhd and very traumatized so if you relate, you might, like idk, relate to these maybe or they may be a little too real??

It's laying back in the middle of a field and staring up at a cloud and finding all the details that make it unique. It's star gazing and asking yourself questions that could never be answered. It's wondering, it's questions, it's emotions, it's senses, it's poetry.. and every single poem has a trace of yourself in it. My goal in my poems is to make people think and believe. Think deeper than what everything seems. Look deeper. Don't just read the cover, read the book. For every person out there that was quiet, not because they chose to be so, but because they were choking in the smoke. Because their opinions were apparently not worth anything. Because they didn't know just how to say what they felt. For every person that is consumed by their own thoughts, the derision from the outside world only making it worse. For every soul that was drowning in remorse and anguish on restless nights. For every soul that says I love you in the dark and in the mirror because no one else does. For the floors we would pace while anxiety sunk its teeth into us. For the mirrors that we would break while shame echoed its laugh in our caged walls.
