It's been one year since Voldemort's defeat and the students of Hogwarts have been invited back for an 8th year. However, new problems have arisen. The wizarding world population has decreased dramatically, and with the Ministry back in full power, a new law has been made. Every witch and wizard above the age of 17 will hereby pledge their love and loyalty to a partner of the ministry's choosing in which they will be united by marriage. They then have a maximum of one year to reproduce to prevent the mass reduction of wizards and witches alike. If any person fails to do so, themselves and their partner will be banned from magic and stripped of their wand, indefinite immediately. The Golden Trio are no exception to this and despite their positions as heroes, their arrival back at Hogwarts will most definitely not be in their favor.

Hermione spit her tea out in shock. This was not for real was it? It had to be a joke! I mean, come on, how could the ministry do this? A marriage law? Why? Yes the wizarding population had sunk considerably during the war, but it was surly rising back up again at a good pace wasn't it?
