Thirteen short stories I submitted as entries into the "Twelve Prompts of Christmas" contest, created by Carol Ann Shaw (@WriterOnTheIsland).  

Each of these stories is based on real-life events. Several  of them are plain-old non-fiction. Can you guess which ones?  The rest of them tell the real-life story, but from a different branch of the alternate-Universe tree.   

Examples of ways in which reality has branched:  What if my Dad went pro as an Opera singer? What if I only had a couple of siblings, rather than six of them?  What if I didn't move to New York, but instead stayed with Boston Ballet Company?  What if my first boyfriend had been older than me instead of younger than me?  What if my high-school crush and I had crossed paths again after high-school?   What if my brother came out at Christmas Dinner instead of after my Dad's passing?All Rights Reserved

It's exactly as the title sounds. I'm just doing this for fun, but I will be focusing on these characters and this family. Some rules I've kinda made for myself is that I have to already include the prompt word or a word similar to it at least once, and just Incase if anyone was wondering, the chapter of each prompt will not be only the prompt, it'll be more of a start of the day to the end of the day kind of thing. Noelle was excited to spend Christmas with her brother and father but she had never expected to witness THE Santa Clause disappear nor a visit to the real North Pole. When her father goes through the Santafication, Noelle makes it her mission to bring his spirit to life. He can't be a Grinch anymore, so Noelle works with Charlie in convincing Scott that he is Santa. Nico partly regrets this, but he couldn't bring himself to say no to Will. Perhaps Nico shouldn't have gone as now everyone in Will's family seems to think that he and Will are dating.

She accidentally told Drew something she shouldn't have. And then she lied to him, causing him to change into the man he is now. They are now in highshcool. But they are farther apart than the Sun and Earth. Their paths haven't crossed since then...and it seems like, they will never cross again. But some people just wouldn't let it end there. Usually, people Carol's age are getting married, buying their first house, getting their first pet, etc. Her younger sister's doing all that. Good for her right? And she's doing it with Carol's ex. It has been a year since they broke up and he has been with her sister ever since and well, I'm sure you can guess the tea for that one. But it's Christmas time so 'tis the season to be jolly. She'll be seeing her two favorite people at the family reunion. Where she has promised everyone that she has happily moved on, and has someone to introduce to the family... except- she doesn't. During a trip to the grocery store, she bumps into one of the finest men she saw, which wasn't through her phone screen. So, obviously her first reaction was to ask him to be her plus one for the family reunion and to pretend that they're a couple. He Agrees! On the condition that she'll help him become Santa Claus? Weird but she agrees to do exactly that. Nick keeps claiming that he's Santa Claus's Son and that there's this whole Christmas wonderland where people compete to be Santa...she just goes with it. I mean his good looks had to come with a sacrifice right? Little did she know what she had signed up for...
