When a space portal is used to kill an important elected official, the police are scrambling to get answers before the media gets word and panic can ensue. To help solve the crime, the Intergalactic Police call on the foremost expert of all space portals, Roger Stenely. Accompanied by an expert Detective, Edgar Hort, and a peppy building manager, Olivia Rochester, Roger tries to solve the mystery. But before he can uncover the clues, him and his team are ambushed by brutish alien Dartariot thugs.
