After endangering a group of tourists, Alli Numas returns to his Northern Territory hometown. Lost in resentment, wishing to be anywhere else, he soon finds that, this time, home will not be like it ever was before. The town has lost its mind, hysteria after a crocodile kills two tourists taking hold of the people. Enraged by the bloodlust with which everyone is hunting the animal, Alli and his activist friends begin a hostile campaign against the bereaved, intent on protecting the crocodile. However, Alli has much to learn about the nature of his own species, sickening as he might find them.
