(Y/N) is a fate-seer, someone who can see the ties of fate that bind soulmates together.
When someone looks at the ties they can appear as many different things depending on the person, but to (Y/N) they appear as ribbons tied to a person's wrist or fingers, the color of the ribbon signifies the kind of relationship between the souls... unfortunately for (Y/N), for as long as she could remember her romantic Soulmate ribbon had been nothing but a red intangible mystery on her pinky finger, since the ribbon just ended in its loop and didn't continue, she had been bummed about it for a while but she eventually just accepted that she probably wouldn't find love with her soulmate... at least not in this lifetime.
One day (Y/N)'s friends decide to show up unannounced at her home with plans to do something they claim will be "fun" that they found in one of (Y/N)'s old books that one of them apparently snatched from her bookshelf the last time they were over. They scour (Y/N)'s house for candles and string and seem to set up some kind of summoning circle in her living room... they invite (Y/N) to join them in trying to summon a helpful entity and make a contract with it... (Y/N) turned them down, suggesting that they don't try this since she generally sees the whole thing as incredibly sketchy but once her friends set their minds to doing something (Y/N) rarely has any way of stopping them.
What (Y/N) won't expect... was that the ritual her friends perform would work, and they end up summoning a rather unusual demon... and stranger still, (Y/N)'s romantic soulmate ribbon... seems to have bound itself someone.
