I've always had a fascination with the stars, whether it be constellations, the moon, or just the bright burning things themselves. I can remember sitting on my front steps at night watching them, calmed by how simple and quiet the world seemed in that moment. I wish it could always be like that

Scientist have researched for years why human eyes just form red beating hearts through their eyes but some people just say it's their "Soul Mates". Cringe... That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. Escaping the Monster's Embrace (OLD BEING REWRITTEN )
(Currently being rewritten under a new name The Claimed) Everything changed when they came out of hiding, terror spread across the world as people began to question if our presidents and our global leaders lied to us and weren't from the same race. The Beasts blended in amongst us as if we were the same, except humans didn't have the same predatory instincts and we couldn't change our forms like they could. Soon after we learnt that we weren't the only species people began going missing. The 'Signs in the Sky' are what keeps the world of Equatilia at peace. For many years, these signs had prevented for things going wrong in their world and if even a single one is lost, the world will turn to chaos. Every generation, the oldest descendant with the same gender of the former Signs work hard to prepare to replace their predecessor. This is a story about the 'Zodiacs', as what their classmates call them. They are a group of people that are 'friends'. Or, as some normal people think, has some kind of connection, both negative or positive. However, the Zodiacs must put aside their differences, when a tragedy occurs during a supposedly fun night. Now, all twelve of them must work together to bring down their one or two enemies. However, what they don't know is, one of them is killing the group from within them. The problem is, who? As a pretty sane person I knew that ugly incomprehensible things happened but somethings came at you so unexpectingly that you did not even know how to react. Fairytales often painted step parents as these evil beings that did such unimaginable acts which ended up affecting our everyday lives but it wasn't like that with my mother's boyfriend. At least that's what I thought until I found myself somewhere else with a father I knew nothing about, a band that wasn't really a band in my eyes and a past so heavy that going to sleep meant drowning in the horrors of a summer that was meant to be the best time of my life.Complete
