Confronting Fear
"When I offer you my hand again, you'll take it." What if Kylo Ren had been right? What if Rey had taken Kylo Ren's hand when he offered it the second time, deciding her best chance at defeating Palpatine and saving the galaxy was with him? But can the two of them overcome their differences and mistrust of each other to accomplish that task or will pride win out? And then there is a certain group of meddling Force Ghosts determined to test them to their fullest. Meanwhile, Finn has a destiny of his own to fulfill chasing visions of his past across the galaxy. Poe buries himself in work as he tries to forget his failures and forge ahead. Leia attempts to cement her legacy and ensure the future of the galaxy. This fanfic explores a different ending to TROS starting at about the halfway point, when Kylo reveals the truth about Rey in the hangar. It will focus mainly on their story but there will be significant plot arcs that focus on Finn, Poe, Leia, and others. There will be a few augmentations to the earlier story, but I have tried to stay true to the plot up until this point, except for the 16 hr deadline Palpatine gave them. His threat was open ended in my version. This is the third book. After the destruction of Star Killer Base and there is now a rift between Kylo Ren and Nimeria. The darkness is growing each day inside of Nimeria, she believes that an answer to her past is somewhere and there is someone with the answer. Rey and Nimeria's connection is growing stronger and soon everything will everything will change. *please be aware there maybe some spoilers from the movies episode 7 and 8, however it is my own version and she was added into what happens. He killed his own Supreme Leader for the scavenger girl, but now it seems the girl has no more faith in Ben Solo and he is lost. After the Battle of Crait, Rey shut the door on the new Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. Only days before, she was sure that she could bring back Ben Solo, but now, shes not so sure anymore. She's lost faith in him, she believes her vision was only a vision. But she just can't seem to forget the look in his eyes when he fought by her, when he killed his Supreme Leader, when he understood her after the dark cave consumed her. She can't seem to forget him. Then there's Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. Rey hardly knows him and yet now she's strongly captivated by him, drawn to him by an aura that feels so positive and so warm and welcome. My earliest memory is pain. Pain of losing a mother, pain of losing the love of a father, pain from the isolation that happened after the incident.
