Lunaria was a mere newborn when she was found, somehow laid perfectly on the island of The Temple Of Knowledge. Being a place with dorms, a bathhouse, and many many books, they took her in as a student, having nowhere else to go. She never knew her parents, or if she even had any. But she knows that she must train hard not only for knowledge, but to gain access to the outside.
As she has no money and no connections, the Headmaster has allowed her to stay in the temple but not leave. Lunaria wishes to escape badly and see the outside, for what is all this knowledge worth if she cannot even experience herself? That's her reasoning for trying so hard to leave, though nothing personal to the Temple or its people themselves.
And who knows? If she gets out, she might have the adventure of a lifetime...
