Soulmark - your soulmark is the mark you bare of where your soulmate will touch you first. The mark only appears on your 16th birthday and remains black until you are touched, once touched the mark turns a shimmering gold. The mark is unseen by others until gold.
Amarantha, never receiving her mark at 16 rather can now see the mark of others as well as the soul ties that link the matching souls together.
