"When I asked my dad if I could spend the summer with my cousins in Australia, I didn't know my life would change so drastically." Fifteen year old Charlie Hemmings has spent her entire life in Ireland, and she's sick of it. Her parents moved from Australia to Ireland's capital Dublin right before she was born and there was a not a day in her life that Charlie didn't wonder what her life would be like had her parents stayed in Sydney. Her mother, however is no longer around. Having caught Charlie's dad in bed with someone else, Charlie's mother left their home, and their lives. Her replacement is the 'other woman', Megan O'Connor, blonde bombshell who hates Charlie with a passion. Her father is so head over heels though, he barely even acknowledges Charlie anymore, and it's only got worse since Megan has gotten pregnant. Not really expecting anything to come of it, Charlie asks her dad if she can spend her summer in Australia with her aunt and uncle. It was the perfect plan though, being gone for the last three months of Megan's pregnancy while also enjoying the sun in Australia. She yearned for peace and quite. She expected sun and sand. What she didn't anticipate however, was how fast three months can go by. It's just like they say, 'time flies when you're having fun'.
