For the first time in five years, Chancelor Bennett returns home to mourn the death of his brother. What he finds after his arrival is a place completely foreign and different from what he remembers as a child. Everybody who was once considered family has grown apart, and the neighborhood has grown cold and dangerous. However, he is most surprised to find his high school sweetheart: Newly divorced, now living with his grandmother.
Seeing everything he once knew and love age and callous in his absence sends him on an existential crisis. He realizes to keep something alive it must be cared for properly.
On a mission to bring light back into his hometown he will share laughs, tears and love with the people he holds dearest to his heart. He must learn to deal with the ramifications of leaving this life behind, hopefully reconnecting and finding his happiness along the way.
