Hundreds of years have past since the rebellion. The factions were destroyed. But the new founder of the city has decided to re-create the factions. With the same names, the same meaning. He has successfully re-created the factions, with new leaders and new members. The system has been running fine for almost two hundred years, but there has been some rebellion in the factions. The Divergents will not let this happen anymore. It's time to put an end to the system, forever. But will it work?
Charlotte Weldrum, a sixteen year old girl from Erudite did not fit in with her faction. She plans to switch to a new faction, but what? She hopes her aptitude test results shows her the way.

{BOOK ONE} There are five factions. Each had their own reasoning for thinking why the war had happened. Dauntless; cowardice and fear. They strive to be brave, fearless. Erudite; ignorance. They strive for intellect, to be smart and curious. Candor; deception. They strive to be honest. Amity; they blamed the war itself along with fighting. They strive to be kind, forgiving, peaceful. Abnegation; selfishness. So they strive to be selfless. Dauntless are our police. Erudite are our teachers. Candor is the law. Amity are the farmers. And Abnegation are our government. I would sit on the ground everyday, wearing my yellow dress with black sandals. Wasn't the best thing for me. Dresses made my shoulders to broad, especially the flowing ones. When I was home alone, or with my mother, I would wear I tight black shirt and white shorts. No one would really approve, mostly because they were Candor colours along with the fact it's not... welcoming enough. I never understood Amity, not because of the kindness and the peacefulness; well, mostly the peacefulness. Whenever it should come down to defending ourselves or walking away. We walked away.
