Katsuki didn't actually want Izuku to die. He never wanted him to be out of his life. He didn't mean to say those words that day. Now he's gone and no amount of wishing and praying can bring him back.
Except Izuku comes back a few minutes later, but he comes as a ghost. Turns out he has a special quirk that made him able interact with the living and make it seem he was still alive, but only to a certain amount of people. So he choses to show himself to Katsuki and Katsuki only.
What if Izuku took Katsuki's advice and actually jumped off the roof that day right after school.

Mortality

8 parts Complete

Izuku Midoriya/34,709 words Midoriya Izuku was dead. There were enough witnesses to watch as he fell from the sky, a hole in his chest and the light gone in his eyes. So why, a week later did Class 1-A walk in to find him sitting at his desk, wearing the same blood-stained costume, but very much alive. - (It turns out Midoriya has an Immortality quirk. The only problem is when he wakes up again, he can't remember anything for a while. Not even who his friends are.)
