He doesn't know how he ends up in the forest that night, how he ends up in a natural coffin of thorns and roots. He doesn't remember much, or even anything, about his life before rising.
He just knows of the soothing voice guiding him to the other side of the river, where a light awaits him- a light amidst the endless night.
