You love all her work and absolute adore her. one day she comments on one of your cosplays  you had done on Tiktock. you panicked and ignored it longer than you should have. lucky for you she texted you about a day after. about 8 months of talking you realized you lived about 4 hours away from each other. one day you get into contact with Liz and decide to surprise Amanda for her birthday. soon the day comes about June 3rd(can't remember if it's June or july) and you decide to get driving a bit earlier than when was planed but Liz didn't mind. what happens when you knock on Amanda's door?

I thought I had died. When I came to, I found myself in this strange place, disoriented and confused. I looked around and found another five pairs of eyes looking at me with the same emotion swirling in their gaze. Now, 15 years later, I train with these girls. Our makers take care of us, feed us, and make sure we are clean, healthy, and fit. Some of us never had that; that's probably why it took so long for us to realize we were being used. I wasn't sure if that was meant towards me, since there's probably a thousand Luciana's around the world, so- I did what any reasonable person would do, and kept window shopping while minding my business. Well- I tried too, but then I saw an awfully familiar figure beside me, though it didn't really click as I turned to her. "Hazel Ford?" There was no way that my high school friend, was standing in front of me right now. "In the flesh." She smiled at me. I take back what I said, this was really Hazel. When I moved to New York with my parents, me and Hazel became friends in high school, and we kept on being friends until I moved back to Brazil, then I guess we both had things to think of and lost contact. We decided to grab a coffee together, and then she told me that she worked for the Starstruck Agency, basically a design/ model company, and she told me that she could put in a good word of me to her boss. Which I happily agreed to. - But what happens when the real reason as to why Luciana left Brazil comes back at her, full force? Would it change Luciana's life for the better or the worse? And my eyes are always drawn to the cosplayers: the young, the old, the experienced, the store-bought newbies, everybody. But even as I pose and smile, as the flash goes off, I wonder, who is this person? This person standing next to me, who has devoted so much time and so much more money to becoming this character? What is it about you, yes you, that compels you to travel, sometimes very far distances, to a con and give up an entire weekend to pretend to be someone you are not? It took me a couple of years to get the guts to start actually asking these questions. When I did, I wasn't disappointed. And that's where Masks Off came from.
