Life has a way of throwing curveballs, but Jazmyne has always swung for the fences. Born and raised in Arlington Heights,Jazmyne grew up faster than most-raised by her older brother after her mother became consumed with work and her father was nowhere to be found. Despite the chaos, the small household of four always found stability, and the family, though imperfect, was bound together by a resilient love. Now, Jazmyne is juggling college, pregnancy, and a complicated family situation. With just months left before graduating, she's also seven months pregnant with a baby girl, the child of a man locked up in prison. Her son, Jalen, is caught in the middle of a custody battle, raised by his father and stepmother, who are also expecting. Her younger sister, Shatoria, just turned 21 and making her own decisions about life and work, opting out of college to enter the fast-money life; stripping. Her older brother, a parole officer, moved away to Springfield, but still tries to keep the family in line. And through it all, the family's bond remains strong, even as each member fights their own battles. This is the story of Jazmyne, her family, and their wild, messy, beautiful lives in Chicago-a story of survival, love, and what it means to keep going no matter what.
