Yukimura Sara is Tokyo's youngest medical prodigy, practicing as a cardiothoracic surgeon in the city's famous multi-specialty hospital. She's always on her toes, her schedule packed and sparing her no time to rest. It's only more exhausting, for her family has its own set of troubles that put her under more pressure than necessary. 

Despite the ups and downs in her personal life, Sara is determined to cure the suffering of those around her using her skills in modern medicine as well as her knowledge in herbalism. Every day is a tiring routine, all until a moment of recklessness turns her world upside down. She wakes up several hundred years in the past only to meet the powerful and most feared samurai of the time - the Shinsengumi.

With a little luck on her side, she gains the chance to live under the overwhelming scrutiny of the Shinsengumi who she soon, much to her surprise, regards as family impossible to let go of. It is no later that she finds that one of the Shinsengumi's handsome captains has taken up a big place in her heart, one that she can neither ignore nor give up on as time goes by. 

But nothing is as simple as it seems, for Sara also piques the interest of a certain powerful demon who will stop at nothing to make her his. With battles and unrest and heartfelt emotions thrown in to complicate the equation, Sara is soon faced with the predicament to choose which path she will walk down, and with whom.
