Nik Corfield was very comfortable with his London practice, until his friend Alfred dragged him from it to accompany his uncle, Lord Henry Astley, on a search for a hidden village of purported wealth. He hadn't been to India in years and had no intention to do so, but he couldn't refuse. When they arrive, they are marked. Something sinister seems to be plaguing the village, something even more horrible in the forest bordering it, while the nation grapples with revolutions against the British Raj.
