Marinette is in her early thirties. She is single since her boyfriend, Kim dumped her on Thanksgiving day this year. She keeps busy though as the manager and owner of Marinette's Coffee and More. Will she remain single forever, or find her one true love?
Marinette's best friend is her sister, Alya. Alya is engaged to Nino Lahaffe. Nino is best friends with Adrien Agreste. He is actually one of Adrien's old college friends.
Juleka is Marinette and Alya's best friend. She works at the coffee shop with Marinette and Alya. She is single, in her early thirties as well, and has no interest in anyone at the moment.
Adrien Agreste, also in his thirties is a playwright. He travels to Paris, France for some inspiration for his latest play.
Adrien must write a new play and have it finished by Christmas. If he does not succeed he will face bankruptcy and lose his house. For that matter, he will not get any more work as a playwright either. Will he succeed or fail? What happens when he falls in love with the last person he thought possible he could ever care about? Will his heart be broken?
Kim is Marinette's ex-boyfriend. He is a businessman. He travels a lot. He feels bad that he broke up with Marinette on Thanksgiving and tries hard to make it up to her. Kim is in his late thirties. He enjoys sports, likes his job more than most people like to work, has no pets, and a bit of a bargain dealer. Kim likes to make deals with people regardless of the circumstances and he likes to win.
Y/N, a simple woman, joins the deadly games to pay off debts after her mother's death. Young-Il, a heartless soul, controls the games, watching everything from afar while sipping on his glass of whisky.
But this year is different. When he spots Y/N, number 160, during the game of "Red Light, Green Light," he can't help but grow more obsessed with her.
The first game ends, and Young-Il decides it's time to join the games himself, meet her, and make her his forever. Not that he will allow anyone else to even look at her
