Clara Ryder was 14 when she was involved in a car accident that sent her into a coma. When she finally wakes up, she finds that her memories are in tatters and that she's permanently mute as a result of the accident. Not to mention that she can also now see ghosts.

She befriends a ghost boy named Evan, whom she communicates with telepathically thanks to his ability as a ghost to read minds. With his aid and the aid of other ghosts who claim to know her before their deaths, she embarks on a journey of love, loss and rediscovery to piece together the broken memories of her life before the accident.

But just how much of her life is even worth remembering?
