Side A -

He found cassette tape in a box that she kept under her bed.

He never opened the box before, he never talked about it.

He didn't know what to expect.

All he found was a retro cassette player and a few old band albums that
he remembered her father had giving her for her last birthday.

He found few pictures of her childhood and her teenager years.

He also saw the pictures she insisted on taking and printing out.

This was her memory box.

This was her.

And so was the untitled cassette.

It was all her.

Everything.

He grabbed the cassette and the player and plugged the headphones in.

He didn't know how these worked, it took him a little to figure it out.

But when he did, her voice filled his ears.

"I'm glad you found me, Jihoon. I love you.
But I'm sad that found me this way, this means my worst fear was
confirmed. I've left this world and I left you.
I'm sorry. Please listen and don't forget me."

MELANCHOLY | Melancholy drips from my fingertips. SOON TO BE A PUBLISHED PAPERBACK. COMING 2025! This melancholy drips from my fingertips so slowly, you begin to forget I even exist. All of me, the hard parts of flesh you could never seem to love, drips down the drain. I am waiting for the day for your fingers to unscrew the pipes, dig through debris and mess, scrape your heart against the rust, just to find me, so we can go through it all over again. Here, in the pages I find myself, in the ink that writes against my flesh, I will whisper the sadness, the heartache, and the decaying for all of the unspoken. Perhaps under this layer of melancholy, the girl I once knew still exists.    First poetry collection in the series. Original poems based off real life experiences. #12 in poetry.
