This is the tale of a quirky, imaginative family who spontaneously decides to go on a road trip. Simplistic as it may seem, nobody can have an adventure like the Adkins. Nobody. With a Papa who has an array of eccentric hobbies, a Mama who dabbles in embroidery and other people's business, a son who is brimming over with spirit, and a daughter who keeps everyone in line, there is bound to be some kind of escapade somewhere. There is also a Grandmother - but she doesn't say much. Don't read this book if you have zero interest in odd family tales, a woman made of play doh, criminal parents, a cranky storeowner, a pushpin globe, a broken down Volkswagen, cornfields, possibly haunted mansions, and endearing relationships. On second thought, even if you don't like these things, read this book anyway.
