when dealing with fae, always follow the rules. failure in doing so could lead to catastrophic consequences.
1. act without offense. harming the forest has consequences, most likely injury or death.
2. never accept a gift. they could mean friendship, or they could be eternally binding. don't take the chance.
3. never give thanks in exchange for information. it shows weakness, letting a fae with questionable intentions attempt to lure you into the fae world with knowledge.
4. never accept anything edible from the land of the fae. once you eat something from the fae world, nothing from the human world will ever taste as good, and you'll want to travel to the fae world to eat more food.
5. never give your name to a fae, for it's a source of power unmatched. if you give your name to a fae, they can make you their property, their slave. 'no' is not an option anymore. you are mindless, you are theirs, and you will stay in the fae world forever.
