The violent Neighbor. A scum, a great enemy with a purpose to kill.
First you come down with a fever. As you struggle to keep your strength and as your skin fades to a pale thinness, you lose your mind. The Neighbor then leaks blood from the body, making sure that no matter how much is replaced, the body fails. Suddenly, you begin to struggle to even breathe. The Neighbor drowns you. It's final blow? It's a coin toss that ends your life with violent shaking, or stopping the heart. The Neighbor leaves your body and moves onto the next.
Sam and Fara are caught in the midst of The Neighbor's appearance to society. Afraid for their lives, they are not to breathe, nor be in the presence of anything that has been affected by The Neighbor.

Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who reminds her of her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad were to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it's no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new-found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.Complete

A Country Life
Three hundred years after the fall, the known world is beginning to regain a semblance of order, with the sword the ultimate power once more. But not everything of old was lost, and there are some that will exert deadly effort to obtain what was left behind. Orphaned, plague-marked and mistrusted by the community he lives in, a boy must come to terms with the fact that he is different from everyone else, but is soon the focus of unwelcome and deadly attention. Separated from her father, a young girl has to learn to survive in a foreign land haunted by tribes of ghosts and roving bands of piratical thralls to a sadistic King. A watcher keeps lonely vigil from within a fortress that has been under siege for hundreds of years, while a soldier dies for the twenty-third time, and dies again while wondering if he is going mad. First started in 2015, this story is at 50k+ words, but was removed when a plotting hiccup was encountered. I now intend to split it into three parts, and this is the complete Part 1. Having infiltrated the governments of most developed countries, and having released an airborne anti-fertility virus that rapidly spread across the planet, the Brotherhood succeeded in forcing a zero fertility rate. In the meantime, the economy of the U.S. tanked, the government sells all citizens who have debt into slavery within a system so harsh that civil disorder breaks out. Serenity Retreat Center is forced to become a slave labor camp and the family is forced back into special service to save the Center, their tribe, the United States and humanity from destruction. It's been seven months since the pandemic hit with this virus and the world has been ravaged and left to ruins. Society has crumbled to nothing and more than three fourths of the population have been infected with the mysterious virus that took the world by storm. The virus has turned anyone infected into crazed flesh-eating freaks, with decrepit skin and red puffy eyes. The only way to kill them is by obliterating the brain. Elise Alice Gordon, Lease for short, led a simple life until the virus hit. Seven months later she is just barely scraping by.
