Eva and Adan both year 21, are scheduled to advance out of their current life stations at the Population of Persons Bureau and into general population. They have experienced little of the new world they are about to become apart of. Despite having lived the last five years as intimately as humans can, bearing children together. As Rearers at the youth cultivation compound they are assigned to breed and rear children through year three.

The Leadership will allow no person to join advanced society without undergoing cultivation and/or erasure. Working in their capacities Eva and Adan must have both, this is the protocol set forth by the Leadership. Erasure will remove any memory of their former existence and cultivation will show them how to operate in their new identities. Identities where male and female intimacy does not exist beyond the construct of the Leaderships designation, which is relegated to breeding.

Having undergone erasure Both Eva and Adan are being cultivated, a process that takes up to 24 weeks. Their cultivation is going as all others have until the joining. The joining where male and female population are co-mingled to ensure no attraction persists. During the Joining Eva and Adan can't help but feel there is a tie that binds them. Attraction, forbidden and yet acted upon. They both know this is Leadership restricted; such actions would mean a double erasure which could cause a irreparable mental break, Double erasure persons do not exist. there is only knowledge of the procedure and tales of the outcome, no living persons mucking about in society. They resolve to hide their relationship and go under the radar until Eva has been breed. Breed outside of her role as a rearer, breed after erasure, breed during cultivation! A growing love they can mask a growing life they can not.

Eva and Adan, must fight against the leadership for love and for life; their unborn child's' and their own.
