Fourteen-year-old Alex Connell's notebook has a coffee stain on it that looks like a mustache with angel wings. It has history notes inside it, nothing special. But the notebook that soon comes into his possession does not have notes of any kind. Rather, it contains one entry. And the entry does not say who wrote it, and goes by the entity of " the Writer". Alex, after seeing the entry's contents, is determined to find who the Writer is. So he recruits his friend Scarlet Muraille, who is shocked that her notebook fell into Alex's possession.
