"No!" I screamed, moving side to side in an attempt to escape. My hands felt like they had no blood in them, no life. I felt vulnerable, weak, defenceless. I felt small against this monster of a human.

It's as if he knows exactly what I need without me having to say a word. He pressed kisses against my hair, his voice an anchor that kept me from drowning as he murmured, "It's okay, love." Another kiss, and his arms clamped tightly around me. "You have me."

I was shocked at how confident yet quiet voice sounded. "What do I want?" He bellowed. "You're a human, vermin. This is the vampire world. I don't expect you have any need in this world. I WANT you to get out, stay away from this place, the castles, the people. Austin. Stay away from him." He stared me right in the eyes when he said the sentence that prepared me want to leave immediately. "I'll have to kill you if you don't leave - and yes, that's a threat."

It took me several seconds to get out of my trance and when I finally did, all that was running through my mind were two words. Those eyes. All of the feelings that I had been hiding for the last 160 years were now coming crashing down on me. They were literally shooting out from this human's eyes like fire. A fire that burned into my core.
