I lay in my dad's bed, waiting for my dad to bring me some hot cocoa. It was a cold December night. December 8th 2014, was the date, the day before my mum died of cancer back in 2010. She had died on her 35th birthday at a hospital after numerous surgeries. "We did everything we could" the doctor had said, as I remember sinking to my knees, crying onto my dad's lap. As much as I sat around crying the next year, things didn't get any better. Years passed, and soon enough, here I was, laying on my dad's bed.
