Veronica Stilton ist 16 Jahre alt als sie von ihrer Stiefmutter in eine Jugendpsychatrie gebracht wird mit der Begründung angeblich wahnsinnig zu sein. Dabei will sich ihre Stiefmutter nur das Vermögen ihres Vaters unter den Nagel reißen! Am Anfang ist Veronica noch sehr traurig und verbittert und denkt sie rutsche immer mehr in Richtung Wahnsinnigkeit. Doch dann fasst sie einen Schluss: Gemeinsam mit ihren neuen Freunden und Feinden will sie fliehen. Der Weg bis dahin ist sehr schwer.
Wird sie es schaffen und kann man die große Liebe auch am Rande des Wahnsinns finden?

something i'd love to publish one day. after some hefty editing tho aha. intercept: Felix found himself very invested in Alice's daily visits. He was spending extra time getting ready in the morning. He had only a few inches of light brown wavy hair on top of his head and very little on the sides, yet he was spending his mornings making sure it laid in the perfect spot and looked just messy enough to act like he didn't care. He was setting out his clothes at night so that his jeans wouldn't have wrinkles in them. He was brushing his teeth for double as long as he normally would. He even invested in some floss. When he would go downstairs to Mugz, he would make sure to put on the cleanest Mugz sweater he had. He started sweeping more. Especially around the time she would be in, if only to be out in the lobby with her instead of having to talk over the counter. Alice was the same as always. She was very good at not showing an effect that his words had on her if she didn't want to. Any time she would say something suggestive or bold, Felix would find himself blushing or stuttering, but on the rare occasion that Felix would try to be as bold, she would just grin and laugh. I didn't ask to be born into this world, none of us did but we make the best of it. I'm a twenty-five year old single man. Why you may ask? Because I've seen what love can do to a person. It can destroy them. My parent's are amazing but I can still remember the time's my father threatened to kill my mother, left us due to his mental illness. Besides who needs one main women when I can have a different one under me every night, money to blow and fast cars. I'm just enjoying my time until I take my Papes place at the throne. Most nights are spent living it up with my cousins who are my only friends. However there is the one girl that has caught my eye and I don't know why. I first spotted her at a random coffee house I stepped into. Usually I'm very talkative especially when I'm trying to snag a chic but I couldn't utter a word to her. I barely managed to place my order. Now, I find myself going out of my way to stop by that coffee shop everyday. It doesn't matter that it's out of my way. The only thing that matters is that I see her. I knew I could take her if I really wanted to but I can't make myself to do it. She sees me enter and shoots me that amazing smile and prepares my order without even asking what I want, she knows. She'll offer a greeting but all I can do is nod my head. She makes me lose my word's. Deep in my mind I wonder if she could be the one that could change my mind on love and that scares me. A delayed flight. A stranger at a hotel bar. A one night stand. Stranded in New York for an extra night than planned due to a delayed flight, I needed to find a way to keep myself occupied, and I soon found that something. It was easy enough when the handsome stranger introduced himself to me as Kade. It has been a while since I have had a hot one-night stand, and he reminds me how fun it can be. There are no questions, expectations or reasons to see one another again. What I don't expect is our night together to come around and bite me in the ass. When I arrive at a family dinner with my parents and two older sisters to celebrate my return home to Scotland, he is sitting right there with them. Not only is he my father's new business partner, but he is my sister's blind date set up by my parents. We pretend to be strangers because things would become complicated if we didn't. No one ever needs to know about what happened between us. My dad would freak out if he found out about us because he is overly protective of me as the youngest, and with the age gap between Kade and me, my father wouldn't approve. My relationship with my older sister is already strained; I don't need to make things worse between us. Even though he doesn't seem interested in her and he tries his best to show that it could still make all hell break lose. My sister hates losing. She always gets what she wants. I should stay away from him, but it is easier said than done with the tension and chemistry between us, and we struggle to fight against it. No matter what happens, it needs to be our secret to keep.
