The "spectator" refers to the voice inside of you that essentially tells you what to be. It might tell you that you are inadequate and prevent you from speaking up for yourself. Or, it may be just the opposite, leading you to be overconfident and arrogant to those whom you perceive to be "beneath" you. Everyone has a spectator, but some spectators speak louder than others. This ultimately has to do with how much control we ourselves have over our spectators.
