"Why'd you run?" She looks at me, and her eyes fill with emotion so raw I nearly choke on my next breath. She breathes out a sob at my question before sucking it back in again. The shadows spreading inside her veins seem to darken, but that could just be my imagination. I watch as Amber struggles with herself for a moment. After a minute, in a more urgent but still quiet voice, she speaks.
"I've figured it out, Tee. I know everything." Her eyes are half crazed, and I worry, not for the first time, that I've already lost her.

Serenity River's used to unanswered questions. She's spent every day of her life wondering what she is and where her shadow and reflection are. She's also only ever loved two people; she loves her Dad, who's accepted every bit of her without fail or judgment, and her best friend Amber, who's the most strong, sincere, honest and most amazing human she's ever met, and would do anything to protect them. That, however, becomes exceedingly difficult when Serenity plays with matters she doesn't understand and Amber ends up dangerously sick. In order to save her she must accept the help of the reckless blue-eyed prince, Xavier and play the wicked game of a living shadow.

They broke her trust. They broke his mind. But when the past claws its way back, survival isn't enough - vengeance demands blood. Victoria learned how to stay quiet. Grief became her shadow, guilt her constant companion. It whispered in her ear that she should have been the one to die instead. Not her mother. Never her mother. If she had, maybe her father wouldn't have walked away, leaving them to fend for themselves. But silence is a fragile shield-and when the past resurfaces, dragging her into a world she barely escaped, she realizes staying quiet won't save her this time. Xavier learned how to disappear behind scars, behind rage, behind the monster his past made him. Forged by cruelty, built by betrayal, and fueled by rage, he became the kind of man other monsters feared. Scars became his armor. Violence, his language. He doesn't believe in mercy-only vengeance. Especially for the man who made him this way. Victoria was everything he had been taught to avoid - soft yet unbreakable, damaged yet defiant. She had the kind of pain that mirrored his own, a past carved into her bones, a war waged behind tired eyes. She saw through him in ways no one else had ever dared, and he hated it. Hated her. Because she made him feel. He was chaos wrapped in quiet fury, a storm threatening to consume everything in its path. And yet, when she looked at him, she didn't just see the monster - she saw the man who had once fought to hold on to his soul. But love between two broken people is never easy. It's volatile. Cruel. A constant push and pull, neither of them willing to surrender, both too damaged to truly hold on. The closer they get, the more dangerous the stakes become. Yet, for all the ways they fought against it, they kept coming back to each other.

WARNING: THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN WHEN I WAS YOUNG, IT IS VERY INCONSISTENT AND I DONT RECCOMEND READING IT FOR A GOOD READ. I run into the room, I see a girl with tangled curls and blood everywhere around her, she looked like a skeleton with a thin layer of skin on it, but she had the most beautiful eyes, grey, but they were dull, almost as if she were dead. I looked to the man who seemed to be beating her, and realized I needed to get her to safety, as Xavier told me. Raven had given me special instructions on what to do and they were both waiting for me outside. The girl looked to me, confusion built on her face. I was confused too, she could see me? Now was not the time to think about this I could see she was gushing blood, and she needed help, fast. I quickly broke the chain connecting her to the wall. And scooped her up, her blood smeared on my clothes. I held her tight to my chest, I could feel her fear of me and what was happening, but how? No one should be able to see me when I'm running. I looked down to her. Her frail body was light, too light, her eyes stared at me. "Help me..." she said squeezing my shirt and jacket in her bloody hands. She fell unconscious her head laying in my chest which I felt was quite comfortable. I regripped my hand under her legs and ran through the maze of hallways to get out. I felt protective of this girl I was holding, yet I've never even met her... Gray Cannon Thorne and her twin brother, Rein Chester Thorne, are different. Every time they sleep there eyes change. If one wakes up with black iris's the other wakes up with white. On a good normal day they will both wake up with one eye black and the other white. With every eye color comes different problems. I don't own any of the characters except for the ones I've made i.e Gray Rein Twyla Oli

"No running through the hallway!" I yelled as two boys ran past me. "Yes Professor." They said as they slowed down. I smiled as I shook my head and continued walking towards my class. "Professor there are two kids fighting at the pool." Rogue , one of my students, said softly. "Thank you for telling me." I said with a smile. "What is going on?" I asked as I made it to the pool and saw Bobby and John fighting. "He started it." John growled out. "Well I'm finishing it, class now or I will send you to the Professor's office." I ordered. "Yes Professor." Bobby said as he walked away. I smiled as I shook my head and walked to my class. "Mom!" A voice yelled. I smiled as I turned to see my five year old daughter run up to me. "Hello Sweetheart, what are you up to?" I asked as I picked her up. "Running from papa." She said with a giggle. I smiled as I saw my husband of twenty years walking towards us.
