"Listen Jane, I care about you. I really do. If you left and didn't come back, I don't know what I'd do. I couldn't deal being away from you. I - I love you." He leaned in and we got closer. "Dylan, we ca -." He got so close that I didn't bother stopping him. I tried to speak again but his lips stopped mine. I don't know if this was a way to shut me up but it sure did. © 2014 Canada. "I can't do this anymore," he mumbled. I froze at the comment, running through all of the possibilities of what it could mean in my mind."What do you mean?" I squeaked. "I'm not good enough for you. . ." He started. "Dyl--" "No!" He shouted unexpectedly, making me jump. "You don't get it. I'm not good enough," he said through gritted teeth. "Dylan, stop," I started, my eyes welling with tears. "You need to get away from me before I hurt you even more!" He cried, seeming angry, upset, and frustrated all at once as his eyes glistened with tears. "You don't need to do this. . ." I whispered, one tear falling from my eye. "I do, Maddie. I love you so much, and nothing will ever change that. That's why I'm letting you go. Now I'm going to get out of the car, and I'm going to go inside. And you have to promise me that you are going to drive away ans never talk to me again. You're going to find a new love, and forget about me," he spoke carefully, tears streaming down his cheeks. "Nothing you do could ever make me make that promise."
