She blinked once, twice, in sync with his beating heart, before she looked back to his eyes. They were stern and unwavering, soft and beautiful. They said, 'I will not let you down,' and every part of her longed to believe it and to hold onto something as warm as his hand every day for the rest of their lives. How long would that be?
