Mark is raising his daughter Eva after his wife Kelly died of cancer a month after Eva was born. He's living with his friend Karl and his kid Charlie and the two of them are just trying to survive. Mark is fighting off Eva's grandparents who want custody of her all while trying to just hold it together. It's not super sad like it could have ended up, but anything involving a mom who passed away is going to be a little sad. I enjoyed writing this one and I hope y'all like it.

The idea of this story has hit me square to the face when I watched one of my favorite novellas on television.
